Some action figures are already automatically dynamic looking and require no effort to pose. Masterpiece Soundwave is not one of those figures. This picture shows that you definitely need persistence and just plain old dumb luck to wind up with a great action pose. I’ve owned this toy for almost a year and his wonky leg and ankle joints have fought me at every turn until now.
So, you just shelled out $90-120+ on Captain America figures(two of which you didn’t give two craps about…sigh) to make a perfect Build a Figure. Was it worth it? Let me tell you my thoughts.
I don’t know why but snapping things together is always fun to me. That was an instant fulfilling feeling. Once you get that big, chunky, opposing looking figure together, you won’t feel so bad about the extra bucks you spent considering you basically got a somewhat free bigger figure.
He has a lot of molded in details. His range of motion is great in his abdomen and lower body which is really fun to me.
The only let down for me can be overlooked. His forearms are so huge that they don’t do a 90 degree bend. Also, his helmet is so flat and sunken into his shoulders that moving it takes a lot of work. You will need something flat to lift his head off the socket if you don’t have fingernails. One more problem that we all won’t have is the yellow visor on mine has poor paint quality. I only saw to you Marvel now captain america: figures on the shelf. I had to choose poor eye quality on the Captain America figure with a good Mandroid visor paint or good quality Captain America and bad Mandroid. 3 more noteworthy things you may be interested in car, he has no upper bicep swivel, she has wrist swivel and the shoulder mounted canon is molded to not rotate. You have to pull the cannon out some for it to rotate.
All in all, it stays together well and I like it. You would never even know it was a build a figure.
She is incredibly detailed and has nice paint.
Everything else. Where do I start. Her hip joints barely spread out to the side. She can sit down perfectly but wide legged stances are almost impossible. Her feet are tiny and she can barely stand up for more than 2 seconds without falling. Her abdominal articulation can do nothing besides rotate 360. No ab crunch. Her face sculpt looks like a wax person. I know the toy and is technically a plastic person but her face just looks dead. The worst thing, the worst thing of all to me is the hilt on her sword is a complete joke. Her right hand can’t hold it at all and the left one just barely holds it. If you get her to hold it, take a pic to prove it or whip out some glue because it’s not going to stay there long.
I’m new to collecting Marvel Legends figures. This was my second female character. The previous one being Winter Soldier Black Widow. I don’t know if they are the norm but I’m kind of disappointed. The 2 male figures I’ve collected are hands down amazing!
My final thoughts are, if you just need to have a female figure because she’s a female or she completes the set, buy it. Other than that, Gamora is really boring to me.
Oh, she comes with Groot’s left leg
